Hi, My Rainbow E series power nozzle keeps shutting off unless I vacuum at level 3. I can only vacuum for a little while before it starts to whine a bit, then trips the overload. How can I tell if it’s the motor or the overload switch? Thanks.

Mae,
The fact that you said you can hear your motor whining and that it will run for a while except under some stress sounds like a bad motor. But here’s a couple things to try first; make sure that your belt is not too tight. A genuine Rainbow belt is best, but a generic belt is OK too as long as it was designed for a Rainbow and is not too short. Next, remove the brush roll. Hold the end caps and spin the brush roll. If it does not spin freely then check for debris or hair and remove. Also check the bushings/bearings. If they are bad then you should replace them or the entire brush roll.
Unfortunately, the only way to determine if the circuit breaker(overload) or motor is bad is to replace one or the other. We personally think that your motor is the most likely problem since you said it whines and then stops under a load.
I hope this helps.
I need picture for motor fan e-2 series and prise. T.U.

My brush in my power nozzle is slow and jerky, and of course will not pick anything up.
Is there a website that I can purchase a new or rebuilt power nozzele?
