I need a new power cord for my Hoover Wind Tunnel Model No: 5456-900. There are two listed, “Cord before June 2000′ and “Cord after June 2000″. They have the same part number when I put both in the cart. (1) Are the two cards different? and (2) If the two cords are different, where can I find the date of manufacture on the vacuum cleaner?

Good morning,
I recently received a used E2 series rainbow sweeper. We’ve had several rainbows over the past years. This one, being used, needed a good cleaning. I’ve successfully repaired and cleaned the rainbows we’ve had in the past. The question I have is concerning the correct installation of the impellers(fans). I cleaned the impellers and reinstalled them, but when I started it up the sweeper didn’t seem to have much suction. Do you have a schematic as to the proper instillation of the impellers? There are three, two that smaller and narrower, the other one has a larger diameter and is thicker. Which way should the vains be pointing. Should they all be aligned in a certain way?

We have a hoover steam plus carpet cleaner. It has been a God send with two young kids in the house. The brushes have quit rotating. My question is this. Will it be worth it to take it to a repair shop, or will it cost more to repair it than it is worth. We really don’t have the money to buy another one right now.

We have a Panasonic canister vacuum cleaner. The floor tool is stuck on the end of the two-section metal extension tubing. I am unable to separate tubing at the center joint or remove the floor tool.

I have a Hoover Deluxe Elite bagless upright system. It worked great, then six months later it sounds like a lawn-mower. The brush roller spins when on its side and when it is upright. What could couse it to sound so loud like a lawn-mower? Help me. I know how to replace belts and roller brushes, but I don’t think thats the problem.

I have an Oreck Vacuum cleaner. It works well, but lately it has smelled like something is burning. Can you tell me what could cause that problem?
My vacuum cleaner will not turn on. There is voltage running through the cord, check with a voltmeter, but when you turn the power switch to on, it will not turn on. Is it as simple as the switch, and how can I tell if that’s all it is?

I have an Aerus Electrolux Lux Legacy. I needed to replace the bag and after filter this week and when I changed them and replaced the hose the vacuum would shut off as soon as I attempted to put the hose back into the opening or place my hand over the intake area. What could be the problem?
