Need to get Tristar apart

I need to shange the supply cord but cannot find out how to get the two halves of the carcass apart. Cannot find any screws. Where the hell are they?

Thanks anyone

  • Tri-Star vacuums are held together with three screws. If you turn the machine upside down, you’ll find one at the front directly under the lid catch, and one in each wheel well. Once those three screws are removed, it comes apart like an egg. IF your Tri-Star was made after 1999, the cord wrap holder is removed first, then the three screws come out.

What type of screw driver do I need to get the screws removed?

Tom, you are the BEST! I’ve been searching the web for hours for hints on how to get this housing apart. Two of us scouring the body of the vacuum did not spot those 2 screws in the wheel well until I read your post. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Uh, I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally have this thing apart.
