Vacuum Cleaner Repair and Installation Tips – Free!

I need to replace the power cord on my 30 year old Electrolux canister vacuum which still runs fine. I have everything figured out except for how to correctly reassembly the cord retractor which has me stumped.

1) Do you instructions and/or diagrams for reassembling the cord retractor?

Had a broken drive belt in the power nozzle.  Opened housing to replace; found two loose parts.

1) a clear nylon washer with a star shaped cutout in the center instead of a circle.

2) a metal part that is made of a stiff piece of wire, like the wire that a wire hanger is made of. [...]

I have an old Electrolux Prolux model 1572C. The internal hose has cracked. I see that you offer a duct hose for the Prolux and am guessing that this is the correct part.  Is it easy to install. Do you have any directions? Thanks!

My temperature light comes on stops my canister vac, I have several times since (days have passed) and the unit will still not come on…only the temperture light comes on. Do I need a new motor? My unit is 17 years old but was serviced within the last 12 months.

I have an Electrolux sweeper-Lux 9000. It runs for about 2minutes then shuts off for about a minute , then turns on again and it keeps repeating this routine!!! It is driving me nuts. What part do I need to replace? Apparently it is over heating. Please help. Thank you.
