Rainbow E Series Gaskets.

What is the seal located under the motor just inside of the water bowl gasket and is it easy to remove and replace?

From our Tech Support line: Can I use other types of shampoo in my Kirby?

You can use other brands of “Dry Foam” shampoo in your Kirby, but any other type like extraction shampoo will not work. Dry foam shampoo crystalizes as ir dries and soaks up the dirt and grease. Other shampoos are a detergent and will not produce a foam.

Rainbow E series separator locked

we have a rainbow ‘E’ series vacuum and can not remove the acorn nut. we tried spraying wd-40 to loosen it , but no luck. ANY SUGGESTIONS! The motor will not turn on. But the nozzle motor will run, but not pick up.

From our tech support line: How do I change the belt on a Bissell model 6579 Powerforce bagless upright?

Refer to the drawing below.

BE SURE TO UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM CLEANER FROM THE WALL OUTLET BEFORE PROCEEDING!

  1. Lower the handle and turn the vacuum bottom side up
  2. Remove the 4 phillips head screws as shown below and lift the bottom plate off.
  3. Remove the brush roll. Remove the old belt from the motor shaft.
  4. Remove any hair and debris from the brush roll, especially under the end caps.
  5. Put the new belt around the motor pulley and brush roll.
  6. Streeeeeeeech the belt side of the brush roll toward you and secure it in place. Secure the other end of the brush roll.
  7. Rotate the brush manually a few times to make sure the belt is not pinched.
  8. Reinstall bottom plate.

Replace a filter on the Kenmore Whispertone 100

The filter is at the rear of the motor. Getting to the motor requires removing 4 screws. Two are easy, the two rear ones are “hidden” under a pedal. I’m sure there’s an easy way to get to the screws but I can’t find it.
